How does the ER sound work?

A short ER practice activity
Choose a bird or turtle toy and put it over or under a piece of paper. Model "a purple turtle" or "paper bird." Keep a note of the words that feel useful for your child rather than assuming word endings are always easiest.
- Choose two or three useful words from one group.
- Say each word naturally while sharing the object, picture or activity.
- Offer a turn without requiring a repetition. Use a short phrase if that fits the current goal.
- Write down what happened and stop if the activity becomes frustrating.
