Bakery Orders Auditory Comprehension Game

A real reason to listen

A full-body customer enters the bakery, approaches the counter, and speaks one concise order. The child drags each physical treat from the display case into an open bakery box. The box closes only when the spoken order is complete. The child then delivers it to the customer, who takes the box, reacts, and leaves with it.

Auditory memory with fixed support

Before the shift, a grown-up chooses five or ten orders, one of four difficulty levels, and whether picture support appears on request, always, or not at all. Those settings stay fixed for the whole shift. Hear Again repeats the original wording. The game never adds difficulty based on a child’s play.

Support without scoring

Correct treats settle into the box. A wrong, extra, or out-of-sequence treat glides back to the case so the child can keep listening and try again. There is no check, submit, score, accuracy report, transcription, or speech requirement. Keyboard controls provide a tap equivalent for children who cannot drag.

How this game was reviewed

Little Words Editorial created the customer language, inventory logic, motor tolerance, picture supports, and animated ending with feedback from an SLP partner. Every treat shown in the case belongs to a selected order, and the case is empty after the final customer. This game supports guided educational practice. It does not assess, diagnose, or replace an SLP. Read our editorial and clinical standards.
